In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2023, each country across the globe is returning to normal after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is unclear when various issues will be resolved, including intensifying conflict between the U.S. and China and the military invasion of Ukraine by Russia. As such, the outlook for the future continues to be uncertain. Also, natural disasters have intensified, including heavy rains, flooding, and wild fires, and the total population in China is on the decline. Measures to resolve these social issues of climate change, low birth rate, and aging population have been in strong demand. In recent years, the interest in environmental issues has been increasing worldwide. SMC group has been able to refine our technical prowess with the input of our customers to reduce the size and weight of our products, saving valuable resources and energy in ours and our customers’ manufacturing processes. Therefore, SMC group will provide positive contributions in solving our customers’ issues regarding the reduction of CO2 emissions, energy and resource savings.

SMC group will further refine its strengths, which include an extensive product lineup and abundant inventory, product development capabilities to respond to customer requests, and a solid financial base. We are also making capital investments to expand production capacity and create multi-location production centers and continuing initiatives for global cooperation of sales activities utilizing IT. By expanding our global market share through our comprehensive strengths, we aim to become the world's No. 1 automatic control equipment manufacturer and achieve sales of 1 trillion yen.
